My younger brother Brian sent me a holiday card this year.  To the left is the original art from the card's cover.  Let us now explore:

The primary focus of the image appears to be a gryphon-like creature carrying a satchel of sorts in its mouth.  On the bag are the words “The Bon.”  Inside the satchel is a book or magazine, with only two words visible: “It’s the.”

In the distance, a Christmas tree stands on the horizon, listing to the left.  A threatening sentinel?

A post-modern scholar might deconstruct this as a pastiche of images gleaned from mythology and pop culture.

For my family, the logical starting point is our family dog Drummond.
